Shapeways is a 3D printer manufacturer. This company ships and sells parts and whole 3D printers to various clients. When evaluating this brand I knew their look needed to be clear and corporate to appeal to it’s target consumer, but it also needs to stand out in a saturated industry. For that reason I chose to use lime green as the main color of the brand.

One element I wanted to make sure to include in the Shapeways brand is a customized 18 wheeler. The majority of their customers will order product to be shipped to them and when a lime green Shapeways truck is driving down the street other people on the road are bound to notice it.

When creating the Shapeway’s logo mark I wanted something simple, streamlined and representative of the brand. Something that would look clean and corprate but also stand out in various settings. I chose the two squares connected with lines in the middle because it represents something three dimensional and also plays along with the texture that is created when someone is 3D printing a product.
